A new BMW i4 owner from Bristow, VA contacted Tabula Rasa Fine Auto Detailing to inquire about our new car prep service, paint protection film (PPF), and window tint. He’s on the highway daily, and was understandably concerned about debris chipping the paint on his new vehicle.
The 2023 BMW i4 M50 is BMW’s latest all-electric vehicle. With dual electric motors packing a whopping 536 horsepower, all-wheel drive traction, and BMW’s classic sporty exterior, it’s no wonder this owner wanted to keep his new car looking showroom fresh.
Since highway debris and paint chipping were his biggest concerns, Tabula Rasa recommended our ultimate protection package, which includes our single stage paint correction, our Gyeon Quartz ceramic coating service – including Infinite Type 2 + TopCoat, wheel coating, trim coating, and glass coating – and our STEK Full Front End paint protection film (PPF) package.
We also added a Suntek CIR Ceramic Window Tint at 40% to create a sense of privacy and to shield the interior of the vehicle from extreme heats.
When the car was brought to us, we noticed some minor haziness and marring on the paint from both the shipping and use (the owner had driven nearly 1300 miles since taking delivery of the vehicle). The exterior surfaces needed a good paint correction, including decontamination and polishing, before we could apply the paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coatings.
In the end, we were able to make major improvements to the paint’s gloss, despite its being a brand new car. The paint protection film (PPF) looks amazing, and the tint provides that sense of privacy the owner was looking for.
The owner of this incredible 2023 BMW i4 M50 was blown away by the results. He’s now driving the highway worry-free, knowing his BMW’s ceramic coatings and paint protection film not only protect his vehicle from highway debris, but also make it easy for him to maintain that new car appearance.
